United Musicians is an independent music collective founded by singer-songwriters Aimee Mann and Michael Penn and manager Michael Hausman. Based on data from UM's Website, these are "founded on the principle that every artist should be able to retain copyright ownership of the work he or she has created and that this ownership is the basis for artistic strength and true independence."
Albums freed across United Musicians come normally on the creative person's have label; e.g., UM's number one good-length release, Mann's Bachelor No. 2, was on Mann's SuperEgo Records imprint. These are likewise non limited to musicians; have-higher comedian Patton Oswalt is among the collective's creative person.
